This page collects first impressions of the Silver Pines demo. It separates what the sources say about the demo from what they say about the released game, because the demo came from an earlier build.
Status of the demo
The publisher said the demo would stay available until release on October 8, 2026. When this page was checked on October 11, 2026, a search of the Steam store did not return the demo, so a current download could not be confirmed. Check the store before you plan around the demo.
What the first impressions say
One first impression describes the demo as looking unlike most games players had been playing recently, and as larger than expected. One player said they forgot they were playing a demo.
The demo blends survival horror with metroidvania-style exploration. The sources do not say either side overwhelms the other, which is how they describe its balance.
Negative impressions
Some player comments say they removed the game from their wishlist after the demo, and the sources give no reasons beyond the demo itself. Other players said the demo made them look forward to the full game. These are community comments with low support, so treat them as anecdotes.
One common complaint in community posts is repetitive enemy animation, along with fatigue before the demo is finished. Again, this is low-support community evidence.
Expectations
One community comment says players should not approach the game expecting a standard metroidvania. Its tone is closer to a 2D survival horror game. Use that as a framing point, not a rule.
Limits of this page
These impressions describe a June 2026 demo build. The publisher’s own notes say the demo was an early slice of the game. The 1.0 release changed the numbers, enemy animation and performance, so do not use demo impressions as a verdict on the released game. For that, see the review page and the gameplay page.
